We are looking for a pastry chef to join our team
We are currently on the hunt for a pastry chef to join our little team in Levenshulme for the busy autumn and winter baking season and beyond.
Some important info to start:
24-32 hours across four days, with the possibility to increase to five shifts once training is complete
We rotate weekends as much as possible but availability on Saturday & Sunday is essential
Early starts – but not too early. We generally start between 6.30 - 7.30am
Paid lunch breaks
We pay above living wage as standard
The right candidate is:
creative, with an eye for detail & quality;
enthusiastic, with an ability to organise yourself, prioritise tasks, and think on your feet;
able to uphold high standards of cleanliness with strong health and safety and allergen awareness;
with prior knowledge of our brand & what we do;
sociable – we are a close-knit team and have also come to know & love the strong community surrounding the bakery, priding ourselves on knowing many of our regulars by name;
happy to pitch in and help the rest of the team wherever necessary – no task is too small!
The following skills are essential:
viennoiserie and pastry production
mixing dough, shaping dough
broad general knowledge of technical pastry techniques
Cake baking & decorating skills are also very desirable, as is previous front of house and coffee experience, as we often cover breaks for the front of house team.
